Time magazine covers shojo

Nothing really new here, but there’s about 3/4 of a page in the Feb. 16 issue of Time about shojo manga and its rising popularity with young girls. They also mention Jill Thompson’s At Death’s Door, but the writer makes no reference to it being based on The Sandman series, a comic which has been (stereotypically) popular with women.

If they really wanted to cover U.S. manga-style comics, Chynna Clugston-Major would’ve been a better choice, but it was just 3/4 of a page, so I suppose some oversights are inevitable.  Still, it’s nice to see mainstream press covering the fact girls are reading some form of comics, even if they are of the Japanese variety.
