I actually agree for the most part. Adèle in the comic is still fun and I really love the character, but she’s definitely colder and more intellectual. Louise Bourgoin’s Adèle is more sensual and more fun. (I think that’s more the actress than it is Luc Besson, personally.)

I liked the movie way more than I like the comic. For whatever reason the story simply works better live action. I like Adele better here more than the comic.

I’ve been hoping she would be back ever since the second that episode ended. It’s always bothered me that comics were considered a nerdy thing, so to see a cool girl like that on a sitcome made me so happy

I still like a lot of Preludes and Nocturnes but it really isn’t the best place to start with The Sandman. I’m glad you’re sticking with it, though.

You have a cool blog, by the way. I’ve never quite managed to brew my own beer but it’s something I hope to do one day.

Hello,

I’ve come across your blog while looking up info on the Sandman series. Having only read Preludes and Nocturnes (and not getting totally sucked in), the series of posts you did several years ago made me interested. I’m halfway through the Doll’s House and I’m super excited.

As my interest in comics has steadily grown this year, I’ll keep my eye out for these books. I’m familiar with Alan Moore, Allison Bechdel, Craig Thompson, and Daniel Clowes, but I’m so glad I found your blog so I can learn more.

I really hope she will be back. As a male I still identified with her more then any other character. Unlike the other characters, Alice isn’t a huge over-exaggeration of one geek stereotype (granted, if she gets more screen time we may learn she is, but at the moment she does not seem to be).
