Busy days ahead

Tomorrow, I depart for the suburbs of Baltimore for Balticon 43, which isn’t specifically comic-related but promises to be a Good Time. Then in two weeks is the MoCCA Festival.

And somewhere between those two events, I will be moving (at the very least, the bulk of my stuff). Yes, I am crazy. But I figure since I went to MoCCA last year after a working a six-day week on my one day off, I can handle this.

I won’t be live-blogging from Balticon (as in, I won’t be Twittering or anything) but I may check in. There isn’t a lot of comic-related programming, but I’m going to attend what I can. In any case, I’m looking forward to this.

All of this. But I am hoping I don’t drop from exhaustion before the end of it all.

Seasonal shutdown

It’s winter vacation time — all the bloggers have basically abandoned ship temporarily and I, like most everyone else, am being pulled in a dozen different directions right now (although it’s not so much a bad thing — I’m just busy). So I don’t think there will be anything interesting to say about comics until 2009.

I had some ambitions to do a year-end list, and if I get to it, I get to it. But I’m going to guess I won’t. I tend to find year-end lists kind of boring, which is probably where my ambivalence comes from one that part.

In any case, have a good holiday season, whatever you celebrate. Even if you don’t celebrate anything at all. If something truly exciting happens, I’ll check in before the new year. But if not, I hope it’s a great one for you.

I have a few reviews to write and post, but my computer died on me this morning (if it’s just the power supply, I am happy. If it’s the motherboard, I am not). We have other computers I can use, but they’re not my computer.

So posting will be more sporadic than usual.

Coming up are reviews of Skim, Zot!: The Complete Black & White Collection and Kinderbook by Kan Takahama. Possibly not in that order.

I know you can’t wait.

I know I said this week, but it’s not going to be done today and I’ll be gone this weekend. This week just sort of slipped through my fingers.

I’m aiming for Monday. It may be a two-part deal, depending on how it goes and how much I decided I have to say.

I’m only sharing because I know there was all of two of you who were waiting for it.

(Everyone seems to be taking a break post San Diego, even people who weren’t there. I think it’s just that time of year.)
