Singer to take over Superman07.19.04

Here’s the full report from Reuters about Bryan Singer signing on to direct Superman.  It probably means that J.J. Abrams’ script is out or at least going to be rewritten extensively.  I am happy that McG is out, though.

With all the ins and outs that have happened with a rumored Superman movie over the past several years, I don’t think we’ll ever see a new one.  And not being much of a Superman fan, that’s fine with me.

Borders Graphic Novel section07.12.04

It could just be my local Borders Books & Music, but I noticed today that the graphic novel section was moved up to the front and that it was separated into “Other Graphic Novels” and “Superheroes.”  I was pretty impressed that they gave comics a fairly prominent position and recognized there was more to them than just superheroes.

(The move also involved moving the manga up to the front and since that’s been growing in popularity, that may be what it was really about.)
